Our free Steering & suspension check provides you with quick and accurate answers from a professional automotive technician. Think your steering is off? Hearing noises in your suspension while driving? We offer a comprehensive front end steering and suspension check just for the asking. From the very beginning our trained service advisers will have you describe what kind of noises you are hearing. In some cases we will want to go with you on a short test drive to make sure we know exactly what you are talking about. At ProAuto, one of our ASE Certified technicians examines your car and offers suggestions on what to do next. Whatever the problem or the solution, our staff will always keep your best interest as our first priority.

There are times when a suspension or steering part may need replacing. Sometimes that results in your car needing an alignment when that repair is completed. Our trained technicians have the industry’s leading alignment system at their disposal. Cameras are used to digitally take live pictures of your car’s tires and in real time get them to within hundredths of an inch of the manufacturers specifications. This accurate system helps your tires last a long time.

How Do I Know If My Wheels Are Out of Alignment?

A minor accident or everyday city driving can knock your wheels out of alignment. But how do you know? It is important to pay attention to the placement of your steering wheel. It should be centered when you are driving in a straight line. If it takes longer to steer your vehicle on a left or right turn than it used to, your alignment is likely off. We live in the windy city so it’s not uncommon for your car to pull when driving on windy days, but if you notice more pull than usual it could be an alignment issue. Make a habit of checking your tires and tread. While many factors contribute to uneven wear, if your tread is thinner on one side than the other it could be due to misalignment. These changes can occur gradually so keep a close eye.
